"#FunFriday: Let's Go to the Beach!" from "FeedBlitz News" Summer is in full-swing despite the crazy amounts of rain we had last month. That said, we've made it through some pretty #FunFridays, and still have those songs from last week playing in our heads. When we think of summer, we think of sunshine, lazy days, late nights, and of course vacation. And, when it comes to vacation destinations, in our humble opinion the ideal destination is without competition: the beach. Let's Hit the BeachJust thinking about the warm breezes, blue skies, bright sun, saltwater, and waves make us wish we were on the beach right now. So, what the heck, we're taking the day off and heading to the beach! Care to join? OK so maybe we still have to work today. BUT – we do have this fancy resource called the internet at our disposal with billions of photos, videos and information. So instead, let's surf the web and explore some of the top beaches around the world. Get your sunscreen ready … Actually, first, why don't you check out this video with not one, not two, but three full hours of beach time. Listen to the sounds of the ocean while we explore some of these exotic locations below … Warning: Don't fall asleep! Those beach sounds are very soothing. Five Fabulous BeachesNational Geographic recently highlighted its Top 10 Beaches, and the first five really caught our eye … Let's explore. #1 Seychelles
Located in the Indian Ocean, this beach is one of the most photographed in the world. With glistening, pale pink sand, granite boulders and dream-like turquoise water, this beach is calm and relatively shallow. Definitely vacation-worthy. #2 Maldives
Oh, to be in this picture! Imagine scuba diving with tropical fish or laying out along these magnificent islands — all 1,102 of them. The Maldives straddle the Equator southwest of Sri Lanka, and exude all that is exotic.
Tahiti is well-known for being a top vacation spot. And Bora Bora is a prime example of the magic found within these islands. Bora Bora is part of the French Polynesia islands in the South Pacific and is a lush, relatively small (just 18 miles long) protected lagoon with white sandy shores. The island is also known as "Romantic Island" because of its isolated shorelines, intimate hotels, and quiet surroundings.
Even if you haven't seen that Seinfeld episode, you've most likely heard of the Hamptons. They are well known for offering a high-end vacation spot featuring the nicest beaches on Long Island. What makes them so lovely? A gorgeous, clean shoreline with windswept dunes and lush grasses bordering the Atlantic Ocean.
The U.S. makes this top list for a second time! Lanikai beach is a no brainer vacation spot with sparking water, gorgeous sand, lush foliage and limitless sunshine, making it one of Hawaii's most scenic beaches. The shore is protected by a nearby coral reef, which also helps to keep the surf calm. Plus, the water is always emerald green and picture-perfect. #FunFriday Fact: Did you know America has a "beach expert" called, "Dr. Beach"? Talk about a dream job! Dr. Stephen Leatherman reviews and evaluates America's beaches every year. He's had this vacation of a job for over 22 years and his beach selections are featured by the likes of Forbes and the Travel Channel. Nice. Well, that's it for us this Friday. We hope you enjoyed the view, and got to take a mental vacation at the very least. We'll see you next week for another edition of #FunFriday! Oh, and if you have a topic that you'd like us to cover or some questions you'd like us to answer one of these Fridays, leave suggestions in the comments below …
