Choosing the right item from ThemeForest is only the first step in building your website. After that you’ll need to install WordPress or some other CMS on your server, and install your theme on the CMS. If you want to tweak your theme or extend its functionality, you’ll need to get your hands dirty in some code. Help!

Where do people struggle after buying a theme?

Someone buying a theme from ThemeForest will carefully look at the demo website, make sure the theme has the features they require, and check on support, including the documentation the the theme comes with. So far so good. Then it comes time to read through that documentation to work out how to install the theme.

Most customers attempt to carry out the installation themselves, but it can get technical. They are thrown off by having to set up widget areas in WordPress and tweak the theme’s option configuration.

This is where CXWebExperts excel—we’ve installed a lot of themes! That experience means that we understand most themes, and can guarantee to match the look and feel of the ThemeForest author’s demo website.

Sometimes that’s difficult. There are instances where the author doesn’t include every file in the download pack. For example, they may not include all of the images they use in their demo due to copyright reasons. When this happens, we try as much as possible to accommodate our clients’ needs with alternative options.

We start by making sure we have as much information as possible. To begin the process, first the customer supplies an order via CXWebExperts Microlancer service front-end window.

Once the notification from Microlancer comes through to us (via email), we make sure we have all the information needed to get started:

A full brief, and instructions on the work required
FTP and hosting control panel information for the client’s website
A logo, preferably in PNG, PSD, AI or PDF format
The site structure, including parent and child menus
Contact information (Skype, email, phone)
A delivery timeframe
The theme’s licence code.

On average, we can acknowledge a customer’s order within an hour, then the order goes through our internal verification procedures.

We liaise with customers if we need to clarify anything, or ask for additional information, such as FTP, or hosting control panel details. We review the theme, and ensure that all of the required installation files are present in the theme’s download package.

Finally, we verify the customers’ ThemeForest purchase, as we feel it’s ethical to ensure that authors hard work is protected. Although it’s not our job, we feel it’s the right thing to do.
